The 701 wheel was the first wheel in the Bead Grip lineup. At the time many customers wanted more styles without a stimulated beadlock appearance. Before the 701 was made our patented Bead Grip® technology was tested for effectiveness and was evaluated and confirmed using the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s FMVSS 129 Bead Unseat test at 10psi. From there the 701 was born.

As the series name suggests, the 701 is the perfect wheel for overland enthusiasts mainly for the Bead Grip® feature which allows deflations of tires down to pressures that previously would have required beadlock wheels to make sure tires didn’t debead. It’s advantageous to reduce tire inflation pressure while off-roading to increase a tire’s contact patch surface area for better traction on loose surfaces as well as improve ride comfort by effectively reducing the spring rate of the tire.

Additionally, a reinforced inner lip taken from MRW Race wheel technology was integrated into the wheel to increase strength. The wheel itself is made from solid A356 aluminum and constructed by using a T6 heat treatment construction. The engineers of the wheel even considered protecting the valve stem and placed it in a location to make sure it isn’t damaged on the trails.

The 701 wheel has an eight-spoke design with a debossed Method logo on the face while the snap-in center has an embossed Method Bead Grip® logo. An optional red Method snap-in center cap is also available.

There are two finishes available that includes bronze and matte black. The wheel has a super strong 2650 lbs. and 3640 lbs. load ratings. An HD version is also available with a 4500 lbs. load rating. Both versions include an industry’s best lifetime structural warranty.
